About Me

Hi, my name is Brian, and I’m addicted to wandering.  There, I said it.  Isn’t that step one?  Knowing is half the battle?  Something like that. This is my story, and I invite you to follow along.

My story begins in Massachusetts.  That is where I was born and raised, and where some of my family still lives, but I’ve been away from Massachusetts so long that I need spell check to help me get it right.  Boulder, Colorado is now where I call home, though in reality, home is a very fluid concept at this stage of my life.  I spent many years settled and living the “normal” life, but reached a point where I felt like a passenger, sitting on a train, watching out the window as life passed me by.  And I didn’t even know where the train was going. It soon became apparent that I needed to pull the emergency break, get off the train and start making my own path.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why another blog?  Aren’t there enough out there already? Do you really have anything useful to add to the tangled cesspool called the internet? (self-doubt anyone?).  In truth, I’m more of a listener than a talker, so I’ve been very hesitant to start a blog.  But I’m also starting a new, grand adventure, and a handful of people want to hear about it.  I struggle to keep in contact with everyone in normal, every-day life, so I’m not naive enough to think I’ll be able to keep everyone appraised of my journeys.

Every journey begins with a single step.  Are you ready?  One… two…
